Keep up to date
I am going to try something new. Instead of me collecting names of people who want to get updates, I am recommending that people sign up with www.changedetection.com to see when I get around to updating the page. They monitor any web page and send you an email when they find a change. I use it for watching a few pages.
You can enter your information in the box below or go to www.changedetection.com/monitor.html to monitor any web page for changes.
LIGHTED WHEELS
They have gotten a lot of attention from other skaters and pedestrians along
the way, both here and at the night skate for the Northshore Inline
Marathon.
The ones I use are from Volcanic
Wheel and come in two styles.
"Glare" is more visible from the
sides.
"Blast" is more visible from the edge.
Dealing with the
Volcanic people directly is a bit of a pain, you can get the wheels from other
places like Skater's
Refuge
RollerBob has been a regular on the skate for years. If you have been on the skate, he is usually the person making sure that the people at the
back of the pack are safe and have a good time.
He is also one of our local vendors of wheels, bearings, and skates. His primary business is mail order but he brings a selection of wheels and
berings for sale at the Friday Night Skates. He has more items on the second friday than the fourth but you
can email him ahead of time so
that he knows what to bring.
This skate was created by two former members of the Minnesota Inline Skate Club.
Most of the work for keeping the FNS going is done by their members.
The club web site (www.skateminnesota.org) has the best information on where to skate in the Twin Cities on it's
trail listing page and non-members are welcome to join them on their weekly skates.
