As usual I am getting a late start on this.

Hopefully the issues we have had with the site getting shut down for the last couple springs is over.

To answer one question I have heard several times . . .

Yes, the night skate will exist this year.

We are running out of weekends to do a preskate of the route. If you are interested in doing it some upcomming evening, contact me via the contact page.

2010 ROUTE

The route will probably be close to the one that we have had the last few years.

Google Map - Live map that can give directions, very slow on dialup
PDF map - faster for dialup or better printing

The route is always subject to change as road conditions change during the summer.

START LOCATION

We have been keeping the same starting location since 2007.
The parking next to Mac's Industrial sports bar is free after 3PM and Mac's serves good food all night (along with good beer).
The parking lot is on 2nd Ave SE, just North East of University Avenue, behind the Union Bank and Trust building.

Keep up to date

I am going to try something new. Instead of me collecting names of people who want to get updates, I am recommending that people sign up with www.changedetection.com to see when I get around to updating the page. They monitor any web page and send you an email when they find a change. I use it for watching a few pages. You can enter your information in the box below or go to www.changedetection.com/monitor.html to monitor any web page for changes.

RollerBob

RollerBob has been a regular on the skate for years. If you have been on the skate, he is usually the person making sure that the people at the back of the pack are safe and have a good time.
He is also one of our local vendors of wheels, bearings, and skates. His primary business is mail order but he brings a selection of wheels and berings for sale at the Friday Night Skates. He has more items on the second friday than the fourth but you can email him ahead of time so that he knows what to bring.

Minnesota Inline Skate Club

This skate was created by two former members of the Minnesota Inline Skate Club.
Most of the work for keeping the FNS going is done by their members.
The club web site (www.skateminnesota.org) has the best information on where to skate in the Twin Cities on it's trail listing page and non-members are welcome to join them on their weekly skates.
